Dyskos is a fine beach 800 meters from Lentas. The little fishing village of Lentas lies on the south coast of Crete. Lentas sits on a promontory, in the shape of a crouching lion, which runs down to a 300 metres long strip of fine shingle that merges into the azure blue of the Libyan Sea. In ancient times Lebena was one of Gortyn’s harbours. Lebena was a sacred city with an important healing sanctuary (Asclepeion) dedicated to the deities Asclepios and Hygeia. The Asclepeion attracted visitors from all over Crete, as it was famous for its hot therapeutic springs, which led to the Asclepeion and healed visitors.
Lentas is popular for its beautiful and quiet beaches, such as Dyskos or Dytikos Beach, where is located the Great Eastern Studios, along the shore of the sea.
